Evgeny Ledin. Oncologist, Researcher, Physician

MD, PhD. 20 years in medicine. 15 years in oncology. Founder of Ledin Clinic.

My Path in Medicine

My name is Evgeny Ledin. I am a medical oncologist, MD, PhD. For the past 15 years, I have dedicated my life to treating patients with cancer.

I know how frightening the word "oncology" can be. When a patient comes to see me for the first time, I often see fear, confusion, and exhaustion from uncertainty in their eyes. The first thing I want to do is not prescribe treatment — but explain. What is happening. What the options are. What can be done.

My career began at the N.N. Burdenko Military Hospital, one of Russia's leading military medical centers. Hematology, bone marrow transplantation, radiation therapy — it was an invaluable school: complex patients and the need to make decisions quickly and precisely. I then moved to the Federal Medical and Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health, where I progressed from a chemotherapy physician to Head of the Clinical Trials Department. After that came eight years at Medsi Group, Russia's largest private healthcare network, where I led the systemic anticancer therapy unit and became the network's Chief Chemotherapy Specialist.

Alongside my clinical work, I defended my PhD thesis at the age of 26, completed my oncology residency at the S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, and in 2022–2024 earned an Executive MBA at Skolkovo to build healthcare systems not just as a physician, but as an administrator.

At every stage, one conviction grew stronger: a patient needs not only a skilled doctor, but a guide — someone who will explain, support, and navigate the right course.

In 2025, I founded my own clinic. Not because I lacked patients, but because I wanted to create a place where I could practice medicine the way I believe is right: attentively, honestly, guided by the best international standards.

Oncology can be humane and honest. For me, this is not a slogan. It is the principle behind every consultation.

«I want my patients to understand what is happening and to make decisions together with their doctor — not instead of the doctor, and not without the doctor.»

It is important to me that every patient leaves a consultation not with anxiety, but with a plan. Not with the feeling of "they listened and sent me away," but with understanding: "I know what is happening, I know what to do next, and I know why." Read patient stories. If you want to verify a diagnosis or treatment plan, consider a second opinion.

«I personally manage every patient. Every specialist I work with shares one approach: treatment must be evidence-based, transparent, and closely monitored.»

The Principles Behind My Practice

I do not believe in magic. I believe in science, evidence, and systems. But I also believe that medicine is not just protocols and molecules. It is the person sitting across from you — someone who is frightened and wants to understand what is happening.

1

Transparency at Every Step

A patient should understand: what is happening, what the treatment plan is, why this particular regimen was chosen, what results and side effects to expect, and what to do if something goes wrong.

This is not a "service." It is a medical necessity. A patient who understands their treatment tolerates it better and makes more informed decisions.

2

Evidence-Based Medicine as a Working Method

Every prescription is grounded in data from large clinical trials, international guidelines (NCCN, ESMO), and current publications in peer-reviewed journals. Not one doctor's experience. Not "I think so." But evidence tested on thousands of patients.

Every treatment plan is discussed at a multidisciplinary tumor board. When necessary, I involve surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialists.

3

Every Tumor Is Unique

Even with the same diagnosis, treatment can differ dramatically. Breast cancer in two patients is two different diseases with different biology, different mutations, and different responses to therapy.

Molecular profiling of the tumor allows us to determine which specific drugs will work in your case. This is not the future — it is how oncology should work right now.

4

International Expertise — Available Here

A doctor's participation in international clinical trials is not just a line on a CV. It means access to drugs and regimens that have not yet entered standard protocols but have already shown efficacy. More about clinical research in the blog.

It means knowing where global oncology is heading and the ability to apply that knowledge for a specific patient.
